WEKO (Wettbewerbskommission)

WEKO (Competition Commission) is Switzerland's independent federal Competition Commission, established in 1995, mandated to enforce Swiss competition law by combating harmful cartels, supervising market-dominant companies, conducting merger control, and preventing state restrictions on competition. Under the bilateral package with the EU, a new State Aid Chamber within WEKO will monitor state aid in the electricity, land transport, and air transport sectors.
