Proton AG

Proton AG is a Swiss privacy-technology company founded in 2014 by CERN scientists, offering end-to-end encrypted email, VPN, cloud storage, calendar, and password management to over 100 million users, majority-owned by the non-profit Proton Foundation and headquartered in Geneva. It is the subject of the leading Swiss Federal Administrative Court ruling defining surveillance obligations for encrypted communication providers under BÜPF.
